SINS OF THE FLESH, the fifth in J. C. Wilder's Shadow Dweller series, brings Alexandre Saint-Juste, the straight-laced, rather uptight head of the Council of Elders, up against the flamboyant and irrepressible Sunni. Though Alexandre thinks that Sunni is definitely not his type, he considers her a young, flighty, empty-headed vampire whom he finds extremely irritating, he finds himself suddenly very attracted to her. He readily admits that she is beautiful--tiny, blonde, sensual--but not at all the usual woman he is attracted to. As for Sunni, she has been in love with Alexandre since he rescued her from death when she was caught out in the sunlight as a young vampire. She is determined to break through his icy reserve and get him to finally notice her.

After seeing a picture of the immortal revenant Miles, Sunni tells Alexandre that she is sure she has seen him in New Orleans. At first Alexandre can't believe that Miles would dare return. Miles and Cassiopeia, Alexandre's former lover, have been on the run since they betrayed Alexandre and the Shadow Dwellers by siding with the vampire Mikhail in an attempt to overthrow Alexandre's rule of the Council of Elders.

Sunni is determined to prove to Alexandre that she can be a big help and sets out to find Miles, despite Alexandre's objections and his orders for her not to get involved.

Cassiopeia and Miles aren't the only problems that Alexandre has to worry about. Vampires are dying, burnt to death, but the question is how.

Sunni is caught in Cassiopeia's plot to take control of the Shadow Dwellers. Alexandre is given the choice of submitting or see Sunni die a horrible death. By now, Alexandre knows that he loves Sunni too much to let that happen.

SINS OF THE FLESH is set in New Orleans, with all the hot, steamy romance of that passionate setting. The characters are interesting. The sex well done. The villains and their evil plot chilling. Those of you who have read J. C. Wilder before will enjoy this new addition to the series. Although you could probably read this one as a stand alone book, if you haven't read the others in the series, I am sure you will be intrigued enough to want to read the whole series.

Dreams Unlimited Update brought to you by e-Vampires.net News One of the old time e-publishers (old means started before 1998 in e-publishing) recently went out of business. Dreams Unlimited. Dreams Unlimited will be sadly missed since they published many paranormal romances. I took a look to see if I could find out what happened to the Dreams Unlimited authors and their books.

J. C. Wilder has found a new home with LTD Books http://www.ltdbooks.com The latest in her Shadow Dwellers series, Sins of the Flesh, is now available.

Series: "Shadow Dweller #6"
Genre: Paranormal Romance Vampire

Vivian Carrington's world is turned upside down when her best friend, Mel, and Mel's husband are killed in a boating accident. Grief stricken, Vivian looks at her life and finds it meaninglessly empty, filled with a series of affairs and brief marriages and cushioned from real life by her inherited millions. Her girlhood dreams of making a difference have faded, and although her life is busy with charity and social events, she finds herself hungering for more. Vivian sets out to rediscover herself and ends up in New Orleans, living in a shabby hotel, where no one knows who she is.

When the only woman that Sinjin ever truly loved, Bliss, is killed, Sinjin comes to New Orleans hoping to bury the memories of the past and build a new life. He buys the Chat Noir and starts remodeling an old house. Gradually he is able to put away the memories of Bliss. Then Vivian walks into his restaurant. He is immediately attracted to her good looks, even to her aloof air, but she doesn't even notice him, something that never happens to the handsome vampire.

He feels like a kid trying get a girl to notice him. When he is rebuffed, he is more determined to get her to notice him. Finally, Vivian begins to notice him, notice just how attractive he is, but Vivian doesn't want just another affair, another night of sex, so she tries to keep her distance, but the attraction proves too strong.

When someone steals her fanny pack with all her money and her credit cards, Sinjin helps her and invites her to have dinner with him the next night. She reluctantly agrees. When she arrives the next night at the restaurant, disaster has struck, short handed on one of the busiest nights, Sinjin barely has time to smile at her. Then she decides to pitch in and help. Although she has never worked in her life, she has eaten in many fancy restaurants and uses the experience to step in as hostess. Sinjin offers her a job. Suddenly, she is earning her own money and there is a man who is attracted to her, a man who knows nothing of her wealth, who likes her for herself.

She finds herself falling in love with him. But events in the preternatural world intrude when Sinjin becomes involved with a stolen diary, a diary that the evil Mikhail will do anything to possess. Not only that, several women are brutally killed and each of them were using one of Vivian's stolen credit cards. Then Vivian is attacked. The police detective tries to warn her that Sinjin is dangerous, that he is a vampire. She doesn't quite believe, but then she learns the truth. What will she do? Leave a man that she is sure that she could love, really love, and who obviously loves her or stay and face what he is and the dangers of his world.

J. C. Wilder's Shadow Dwellers world is very interesting, the ongoing story of evil Mikhail keeps one wanting to read more, but it is the romance that is the star. Vivian is the last of the friends who had dinner in the first book in the series ONE WITH THE HUNGER to find love with a preternatural. Each story has been erotic and filled with passionate love, as the fated lovers find one another. TEMPTATION is indeed a satisfying addition to the series. But you will want to read all of them. Since they are eBooks you can, they don't go out of print. But if you want to read it in paper, it is available, with two stories to each book.
